Do you have a lot of posts with “Recipe” set as the primary category? This isn’t optimal for breadcrumbs or SEO, but it can be a hassle updating all your posts. We now have a tool for fixing this!
You can set all of your preferred categories in order of preference, and our automation will bulk update the primary category. We’ll run this on staging first to ensure you’re happy with the results, and on approval we’ll run it on the live site.
After we install our automation on your staging site, you can go to Site Options to set your preferred categories. You can add as many categories as you like to this list, and sort them in order of preference.
You must click Update on the Site Options page when you are done or your changes will be lost.
Once you have your preferred categories specified, we’ll run the automation. It will go through every post, then go through your list of preferred categories, and the first preferred category it finds that’s attached to that post will be set as the primary category. If no preferred categories are found, the primary category will remain unchanged.
We can also limit it to posts with a specific primary category, so we can run it only on the posts that have “Recipes” as the primary category currently, and not change the other primary categories you have already set.
