WordPress Developer

CultivateWP is seeking a highly motivated and experienced WordPress Developer to join our team. As a WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for building and supporting WordPress themes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of WordPress architecture and development best practices, as well as experience working with front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Responsibilities:

• Build custom WordPress themes based on Figma mockups
• Work directly with clients to troubleshoot & resolve issues as they arise
• Support existing clients by building new blocks and features into existing themes
• Optimize website performance for speed and scalability
• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code
• Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress features

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in WordPress development
• Strong understanding of WordPress architecture and development best practices
• Experience with front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Familiarity with PHP and MySQL
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills, fluent in both verbal and written English. As a fully distributed team, we spend most of our time communicating via Slack, email, and video calls.
• You have the curiosity and desire to learn and grow your skills.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with theme.json and ACF block development
• Knowledge of SEO best practices
• Experience with Git and version control
