WP 6.7 Updates

Which each major release of WordPress, we now provide an à la carte menu of new features and improvements you may want added to your site. For WP 6.7 our recommended improvements include:

  • Slickstream Code Change — $100
  • Top Hat Website Tinting on iPhone – $100
  • Site Footer back-to-top fix for WP Rocket – $100
  • Replace Kit plugin with WPForms Addon – $250

Let’s take a closer look at each of these…

Slickstream Code Change – $100

Raptive recently updated Slickstream, but in doing so they removed a vital function all Cultivate themes use.

DO NOT UPDATE SLICKSTREAM! We are actively working with Raptive to either restore their old functionality or establish a new alternative check measure, but we do not know their timetable.

For that reason, we strongly recommend all clients using Slickstream get this code change. If you update to Slickstream 2.0 or higher, the favorite functionality in your site header and post header will disappear until this code change is made.

If you have an outside tech support partner, like NerdPress or iMark Interactive, they can deploy this code snippet for you.

If you don’t have an outside tech support partner, we can deploy it for you—simply sign up for our recommended update.

Top Hat Website Tinting on iPhone – $100

iPhone Safari users (iOS 15+) with the default ‘Tab Bar’ at and ‘Website Tinting’ enabled should see the Top Hat site header color extended to the top of the screen.

If you would like this functionality on your site, we can add it to your theme so it works as expected.

This is a visual change only and does not impact site performance or SEO—but we think it looks nice. 😊

WP Rocket 3.17 introduced Automatic Lazy Rendering to improve the load time of pages. However, lazy rendering can break certain styles.

If your site has our back-to-top ‘circle’ button in the footer and it’s being cut off, this recommended improvement will correct it.

🔥 Replace Kit plugin with WPForms Addon – $250

A few years years ago, we wrote a plugin for ConvertKit (now simply “Kit”) which utilized the ConvertKit API to connect to WPForms. We transferred ownership of the plugin to Kit so they could maintain it going forward.

Unfortunately, Kit upgraded their API to version 4 which breaks the connection, and so far they have not updated the plugin. Worse, there’s no indication that the plugin isn’t working as it reports back ‘connected’ so you might not know your email signups are not working!

We recommend switching from the “Kit (formerly ConvertKit) for WPForms” plugin to the official WPForms Kit Addon. Here are step-by-step instructions if you’d like to do it yourself:

  1. Go to WPForms, edit each form, and take a screenshot of the Kit settings (ex: what tags or forms it is connected to)
  2. Go to WPForms > Addons, search for “Kit” and click Install Addon.
  3. Once the addon is successfully installed, deactivate “Kit (formerly ConvertKit) for WPForms” plugin
  4. Go to WPForms > Settings > Integrations and click on Kit to connect your ConvertKit account.
  5. Edit each form, connecting it to the appropriate Kit form or tag (use your screenshots as reference)

Alternatively, if you don’t want to do it yourself, sign up for our Recommended Improvement and we’ll do it for you. You’ll still need to perform Step 4 as we don’t have your Kit login, but we’ll handle the heavy lifting.
